The marina plays host small and medium sized motor yachts, and all types of leisure craft. The marina livens up when the heat of the day subsides. In peak season you can see a large number of artists and street traders marketing their products and services. Location wise the specially built resort of Cala'n Bosch is very near to the south-western corner of Menorca. As Villa Jessica is found in Cala'n Bosch which is almost on the far side of the island from Mahon airport it is no suprise that the transfer from airport to the resort is possibly the longest transfer in Menorca. The trip typically takes an hour or so by car or a bit more by coach from Mahon airport into Cala'n Bosch resort. Traverse the island on the ME-1 towards the former capital of Ciudadela. On the edge of Ciudadela, watch out forthe RC-2 road which will take you south towards Cala'n Bosch. Please note that if you currently have an old map of the island, you may find that several highways have been renamed in recent years by the authorities. Villa Jessica is in Cala n Bosch which can be found on the Mediterranean island of Menorca (also spelt as Minorca). The island of Menorca is the second biggest of the Balearic islands and is only 34 kilometers from the bigger Balearic island, Majorca. Those who have already visited either Majorca or Ibiza, will soon find that Menorca is generally quieter than the other Balaeric islands. With more beaches than any other Balearic island, Menorca is famous for it's large number of resorts that are relaxed and low key. The northern coast of Menorca is generally very rugged and sprinkled with peaceful fishing villages. The southern coast of Menorca is generally less rugged and is dotted with quiet resorts that are suitable for families. As we previously mentioned Menorca is relatively a small island. If you hire a car you could easily tour the complete island. There are a lot of tourist information offices dotted around in the holiday resorts of Menorca. These provide up to date information about Menorcan beaches, local events and excursions. The tourist information offices are also a great place for a map of the island. The island of Menorca is much more compact and less bustling than Majorca. This unhurried pace is probably why Menorca holidays are generally targetted at families. Unsuprisingly a lot of resorts are classed as family friendly. The Balearic island of Menorca has avoided over-development and retains a large amount of the original Spanish charm than Majorca and Ibiza. So why don't you pack your flip-flops and book a holiday in Villa Jessica in Cala n Bosch and take in the sun on an island with authentic Balearic charm and character? | ||||||||||||||||
