Travel west across Menorca on highway ME-1 following signs for the former capital of Ciudadela. Shortly before reaching Ciudadela, look out forthe RC-2 bypass which will take you south to Cala'n Bosch. The holiday resort of Cala n Bosch is located on the Mediterranean island of Menorca (occasionally known as Minorca). The island of Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic islands and is only 21 miles from the bigger island, Majorca. Those who have previously visited Majorca or Ibiza, will soon realise that Menorca is often quieter than the other Balaeric islands. With a larger number beaches than any other Balearic island, Menorca is well known for it's many resorts that are family-friendly. The north coast of Menorca is generally very rugged and populated with peaceful fishing villages. The southern coast of Menorca is mainly less rugged and is dotted with quiet resorts that are suitable for families. As already mentioned Menorca is quite a small island. If you hire a car you should be able tour the complete island. There are a lot of tourism information offices dotted around in the resorts of Menorca. These provide up to date information regarding Menorcan beaches, local events and excursions. The Menorca tourism information offices are also a great place for a map of the island. Menorca is much smaller and slower paced than Majorca. This peacefulness explains why Menorcan holidays are mainly aimed towards the family holiday market. Unsuprisingly most of resorts are considered to be family friendly. The Balearic island of Menorca is less developed and retains a large amount of the original island character than the other islands. So why don't you pack your sunglasses and head off to Cala n Bosch in Menorca and take in the sun on an island with island character and charm? | |||||||
